We met with producer Claude VonStroke in San Francisco to talk about how he is putting Reason to good use in his productions. Claude is the man behind tech house hits like ‘Who’s Afraid of Detroit?’ and ‘Deep Throat’. Besides producing music and running two two record labels – Dirtybird and Mothership – he is also an in-demand DJ, constantly playing in the US and overseas.

Reason is Claude’s main production tool, but as a fan of old analog gear he often ends up sampling synths to use them inside Reason.

In the interview we also get a walkthrough of Claude’s track Who’s Afraid of Detroit? that was done entirely in Reason. We’ll get to see some of his production secrets, while others will remain secret simply because the routing of a vocoder effect turned out to be so convoluted Claude couldn’t understand how he once did it!
