posted by Record Blog 2009-06-17 at 13:38

Another micro tutorial is out: Micro tutorial #5 - Insert Effects.

In this tutorial we will see how insert effects are used in Record and how to control your effect parameters from Record's main mixer.

Just became a beta tester and I am excited to dive into record!
I have been following the microtutorials with much interest. I love the idea of the audio as a combinator idea, but is there any audio tuning device that will be included? Or will we need to export audio to a third party. I use tuning devices as effects at times and it would be great to have a p heads device to tune the vocals guitars etc.

I am really happy you guys are going this way I have been a user since rebirth and love to see the evolution of the program.

I am guessing you will cover sends in another tutorial, but is there going to be anyway to use sends to key a processor on another track? One of my favorite "tricks" with ProTools is keying a dynamics processor in a track using the signal from another. For example, using a send from the kick drum to key a compressor on the bass track. It would be great to have this capability in Record.

I am SO excited to try Record. Currently I run almost every ProTools session I do ReWired to Reason and am really looking forward to having one program I can use to do everything when putting tunes together. Keep up the great work.

Send effects are great but all I want to know is how easy it is to setup a mic and record vocals or sounds. Then once recorded add effects/sends.

Will I beable to record vocals in realtime and add effects to the audio module. Does record have a vocal module so you can add send effects to it like the BV52 Vocoder and will I beable to change the carrier wave in realtime to add vocoding to my vocals in realtime and so forth. If this is the case its gonna mean world domination.

will the channel strips (i.e. eq's, comps, etc.) have presets as well? and if so, will they be from renominated engineers, producer et.al, as is the practice with 3rd party plug-ins these days?

I dont see that you guys have included a Gate/Expander on here. Just curious, would it be possible to have this included in a later update or version? I feel that this could be a great tool for recording especially if people dont have sound treated rooms as a home musician. other than that, I love eveything about Record and am SOOO ecited for it.
