VP of Product Management

Propellerhead is seeking a VP to oversee all product management work for the company, reporting directly to the CEO. We’re looking for an experienced person with analytical as well as practical skills in product management. Someone who can marry modern and structured product management and design practices with the legacy that has allowed Propellerhead to repeatedly create stunning products for the MI industry. This person needs to be a direct driving force in all product work while at the same time building a successful, autonomous and effective product management team.

Responsibilities

  • To take the company strategy and turn it into successful products that help people all over the world turn their musical dreams into reality.
  • To work with the company’s product strategy group to create strong product proposals and designs that meet the above goals.
  • To initiate and perform research on and structure company knowledge around users, needs and product opportunities, in order to maximize predictability of success.
  • To be an excellent team leader, building skills and processes for a growing product management organization.
  • To be directly involved in and hone our product design methodology and skills, in order for us to deliver even more exciting, attractive and usable product designs.
  • To oversee the project management process of all product projects.
  • To ensure that the interface between product management and the development teams is ideal for each project situation.
  • To work together with other departments, such as sales, marketing and customer service to leverage all the power that a unified effort can produce.

Skills and attributes

  • 5+ years in senior product management.
  • Great track record of products with excellent definition and design.
  • Strong experience in product research.
  • Background in MI or neighboring industry.
  • A strong leader, yet willing to roll your sleeves up.
  • Team player, has great ideas and expresses them and is also willing to be part of a team.
  • Solid communications skills – both oral and written in English.
