Hi and welcome to the March issue of Propellerhead Software's newsletter. This month, we're proud to deliver a newsletter that is overflowing with tutorials — from a thorough introduction to filters by Gordon Reid to the secrets of Dubstep bass by James Bernard. And a whole lot more. Enjoy! In this issue:
In our series of tutorials and interviews about using Reason and Record ReWired to a DAW, we have now added a section on Logic. We met with LA producer/songwriter Chaka "ChakFather" Blackmon to talk about how he uses Reason, Record and Logic in his day-to-day work with artists and clients such as Christina Aguilera, Disney, Will Smith and many more. In the interview, Chaka shows us how he's using the combo of Reason, Record and Logic while tracking vocals with talented singer Paige Adkins, and we also get some of his own tips for ReWiring to Logic.
Our very own recording university, or Record U for short, has been updated with a new article on reverb. Reverb is an immensely useful tool to create lush, clear mixes, but can create quite the opposite if used poorly. Join Ernie Rideout as he explains the uses of reverb in mixing. It's lab coat and shirt pocket-protector time again. The Discovering Reason series is back with a very thorough introduction to analog filters: the theory behind the various filter types and their uses in Thor. Filled with informative diagrams and sound examples in the unmistakable style of synthesis guru Gordon Reid.
Our very own product specialist James Bernard has set out on a year long mission to create 52 Reason and Record tutorial videos. That's one video a week, for the calendar-challenged. In the first four videos, James has covered topics such as creating gate effects in Record's mixer, the secrets of Dubstep bass and the basics of CV/Gate. Don't miss this series!

CycleOn ReFill by Peff The main features of CycleOn include Tempo Synchronized Loop Playback; crossfading between two loops; auto-synchronized start and stop; loop start re-triggering effects; delay based audio juggling; a dual stage beat repeater effect; and one-click effect initiator buttons. The controls are programmed to be used in a live situation, and when used in conjunction with a control surface, CycleOn patches form the foundation of a compelling performance piece.
