Well a lot can change in just one month! In the last 30 days we released a new iOS music app called Figure which promptly climbed to the top of the app store charts; enjoyed by musicians and even non-musicians everywhere. And if that wasn't enough, we decided on a game-changing technology shift to allow third party developers to create devices for the Reason rack. But that's not all we've been up to, either. In this issue:
This month we released our newest iOS music creation app, called Figure. Powered by Reason's Thor Polysonic Synthesiser and Kong Drum Designer but totally redesigned for mobile environments, transient moments, and touch surfaces, Figure is a whole new take on making music that is both fun and sounds awesome. And in terms of bang for your buck, Figure is tops there too because it only costs a buck. The reviews are still pouring in after the tech world has been getting their bleep and blorp on all month long. Propellerhead's Figure Music App Is Awesome, Easy to Use and Cheap iPhone app makes powerful electronic music-making technology accessible to all. Figure is an awesome, editor's choice award-winning, music making app, that will help you get down with ease. Within about a minute, I’d composed my first beat. Within three, I’d made it sound pretty darn good.
In case you missed the buzz at the end of last month, Reason is about to undergo one of the most monumental expansions and shifts in its history when Reason 6.5 comes out shortly. Version 6.5 will introduce a new technology called Rack Extensions which allows third party developers to create and sell their own rack devices that integrate into the Reason rack fully in all the ways you already know and love. All the patching of audio and CV signals will be there, along with the ability to save and browse patches, copy/paste settings between devices, and load Rack Extensions into Combinators alongside with your favorite Reason devices. Best of all perhaps, Reason 6.5 will be a free update for Reason 6 owners. Want to know more? Propellerhead CEO Ernst Nathorst-Böös gave a special technology preview in Frankfurt, Germany. From recording guitar with hip hop legends like Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg to touring with Salvador Santana, and even in his own solo albums, Jared Meeker is a powerhouse player with flawless technique and flawless tone. Jared has applied a guitarists mentality to the Reason rack by creating Combinators that integrate with his Line 6 FBV Shortboard MkII foot controller. The result is a stompbox pedal board more powerful than you could ever dream of... and requiring far fewer 9V batteries! But don't just listen to Jared's killer tones, try them out yourself! He has provided every patch he shows in this video's 4 songs and we decided to add to the collection with a few of our own favorites as well. With patches from Jared Meeker, James Bernard, Mattias Häggström Gerdt, Ryan Harlin, and Gary Bromham you'll have a nice collection of new tones to rock out with in our exclusive "Strum and Thumb" mini ReFill!
Quench your thirst for new sounds with these killer additions to the ReFill shop. With modern chillwave sounds, to cinematic drums, to vintage grooves, we've got you covered.
Propellerhead is hiring. If any of these jobs sound like you or someone you know, we'd like to know!
