The Uhbik Series Expands

This past month, U-he expanded their Rack Extension library with the new Uhbik-F and Uhbik-Q. The Uhbik-F is U-he's flanger which is super-charged to give you nearly every conceivable flange and modulation effect... and a few inconceivable ones too. The Uhbik-Q is U-he's take on EQ. Uhbik-Q combines freely tunable frequency bands (4-pole filters, not the usual 2-pole!) with presets for other options. Q-factors automatically adjust to gain, an optional 'mid' bell curve filter adjusts to the two main bands… judging by the simple GUI, you would never guess just how much this EQ can do!

In an effort to quench the unquenchable, your thirst for knowledge, our product specialists have cooked up few new tips videos for you. These run the gambit from sound design, to advanced effects, and even remix strategies. This month newcomer Max Rehbein answers the age old question: How to make an Aggressive Dubstep Bass. It's a lot easier than you might imagine and boy does it sound aggressive! James Bernard takes a more helicopter view of how to approach remixing when you've got stems from an artist. As remix contests and promotions become more common, artists are providing the stems to their music more and more. Mattias rounds out the collection this month with a look at Advanced Polar Techniques. Since Polar and do basic pitch shifting but also mind-bending granular effects, Mattias delves into the latter and bends minds in the prices..

Get Out to The Producers Conference

All around the world producers, beatmakers, musicians, and engineers have been coming out to our all day knowledge-fests known as The Producers Conference. With a roster of special guest speakers and presenters, The Producers Conference (TPC) is one of the best ways you can get tips directly from the pros while also meeting up with local Reason users in your area. Two new TPCs have just been added to the calendar and folks in Chicago, Nashville, Berlin, and Toronto will want to jump on these great events.
