It's December and winter has come to Sweden, no question about it. Between cancelled trains and snow ball fights we also do work related things here at the office, such as the PX7 release to bring FM synthesis to the Reason rack. If you have missed it, we are also running our Holiday Countdown each day until Christmas and you can read more about that below. Happy Holidays!

In this issue:

  • Introducing PX7 - FM synthesis for the Reason Rack
  • Figure updated - now iPad, iPhone 5 compatible
  • ReBirth for iPad updated - SoundCloud support, duo mode and more

Introducing PX7 - FM synthesis for the Reason Rack

Introducing PX7 - FM synthesis for the Reason Rack

The PX7 FM Synthesizer is a six operator FM synth for the Reason rack. As a faithful recreation of the popular DX series keyboards, it provides a wealth of new sounds, ranging from classic 80's bass and brass to modern textures, leads and growls.

But PX7 is not only an emulation of a classic keyboard. With an easier interface, macro controls for quick and powerful tweaking of sounds, stereo spread, and full integration with the Reason rack, it takes FM synthesis into the age of Reason.

Figure updated - now iPad, iPhone 5 compatible

Figure updated - now iPad, iPhone 5 compatible

Propellerhead's popular iOS app Figure has been a runaway success since its release earlier this year. Lately, it has been inducted into Apple's App Hall of Fame and was also selected by Time Magazine as one of the 2012 top apps. We recently released the 1.3 update to make Figure a universal app among other things. This means Figure now runs pixel perfect on iPads, iPhone 5 and iPad mini as well.

Other enhancements include:

  • Legato notes - create note slides using the Rhythm wheel
  • VU meters - the mixer now has visual feedback
  • Improved clear function
  • Updated translations in Russian and Chinese and manual language selection too

ReBirth for iPad was also updated recently, sporting the new Duo mode that lets you jam with a friend on the same device. You can flip devices around so that two performers can share the app while facing each other, allowing for instant four-handed jamming.

Other additions include:

  • SoundCloud sharing - share your tracks on SoundCloud
  • MIDI sync - slave ReBirth to other instruments
  • Audiobus support - Now you can process or record audio from ReBirth for iPad directly in other Audiobus-compatible apps!
  • Background mode - keep ReBirth playing in the background when slaved to other apps
  • iTunes export - export your track to iTunes on your computer
