Propellerheads Worldwide Events

Remix Hotel NYC

Remix Hotel NYC took place June 23-25, and Propellerheads, in close co-operation with Line 6, was there. We held demos, clinics, master classes and artist presentations all three days. This year's show turned out to be a tete-a-tete with the Hip Hop community. Thanks to Rockwilder's presentation showing his unique tricks and techniques, even hard-core MPC users were talking about making the switch to Reason. "You gotta check out that Reasons, man".

Remixhotel Hallway

Lousy weather and unfavorable circumstances did not deter our users. Our room was constantly packed. People just wouldn't leave - in this case standing in the hallway trying to get a glimpse of Marley Marl. Next time we'll get satellite speakers, so you all can hear!

Demos catered to the Hip Hop centric crowd. Using Reason Drum Kits 2.0, James Bernard showed how to get classic beats using the included MIDI files. James demonstrated how quickly and easily you shape them into your own sound by applying different drum kits, patches and effects (and no concerns for sample clearance either!)

RemixNYC MarleyMarl

A gem of the Hip Hop world, Marley Marl, captured the audience with his stories. Here he waxes poetic, getting sentimental for a while over a beat he once put together.

In case you didn't know: Marl was among the first to mine James Brown records for grooves and crafted his own drum loops through sampling, decreasing Hip Hop's reliance on tinny-sounding drum machines while giving his '80s productions a fresh, modern flavor. His production work for some of the finest Hip Hop talents generally boasted a bright, booming, and robust sound that helped move street-level Hip Hop's sonic blueprint into more accessible territory.

Remixhotel Armageddon

Armageddon starred in our booth the last day. He showed his different style of using Reason and also shared his experience of how to make it in the music business.
