Alias/Ghost clips?

I am considering starting to use Reason for my music production. I am used to working with Logic and Cubase, where arrangements can be built up by creating parts (clips?) that are copied as aliases/ghosts to make the arrangement. For example, a four bar bass line groove, which is repeated in the song arrangement.

By having ghost parts, when creating the song it is only needed to update one part instead of changing all identical parts, if for example a modification to the bass groove is needed. I can't seem to find any similar way of building arrangements in Reason, without having to change every single identical part in an arrangement. Perhaps I have missed something. Any help would be appreciated!

yes this is exactly what I need and asked for this feature a few years ago but
it seems reason will never do that.

Ok maybe i dont have a clue but Reason also works with Parts or Clips, u can have variations and simply copy a certain clip and paste wherever u want to.
So lets say that at the beginning my bass has a certain midi arrangement, and the last beat goes down an oct. Simply copy just that clip and paste again has u wish wherever and to whatever Instrument. So you dont need to actually redo the entire midi data in the piano roll view.
I suggest you read the manual.

this is not like ghost clips. In reason, if you make a copy of a clip , it is unique. Any change to the original clip will not affect the copy.

Ok i get what you talking bout now.

hi, in Reason you should use pattern based devices for repetitive things, redrum (+ kong) for drums/matrix + something combos for midis, octorex for loops etc. then automatize the Pattern Selector of the given device, I've created a video about the process please check it (the other way is the Block Mode but I like to use it for bigger blocks not for patterns)

Cheers! :)

ps: AFAIK there in no polyphonic matrix in Reason, if u want such a thing u have to duplicate, use block mode, or Reason through ReWire or ... :D
