It will be up on itunes soon, but here is a link to the bandcamp page.
Almost the entire album was either touched with or done completely in R+R
It is hip-hop so if you don't like that genre you may not like this ha ha
Let me break it down track by track, lots of them started in R4 so I could not sample directly in to the program R5 would have saved me a step. but anyway.

Not my taste but on the flip side for those who are into hip hop you have some interesting music . I'm sure you can keep their feet tapping all night , hell maybe a few car trunks will fly open with your groovey bass beats .
Good job ! Ghostriderlx
Thanks guys! BTW the album just got approved at Datpiff
Hope you all enjoy it :)
genesis is my favorite. its got a very oldskool sound to it. you did a god job.
Tadah ...... yes me :-(.
Haven't forgotten you.
Tomorrow will be a good recovery distraction ;).
Just hang in there I WILL give it all a good listen mate ok :).
Thanks for the download i think it sounds great.
Is that Relic as in "Slick da Relic" as he is known elsewhere.... tight rhymes either way ;).
It's quite diverse to me, in that it has a wonderfully gritty old school vibe, with a big not to both hip hop, ninja tunes styled material and those kookier musical interludes found on early De la Soul albums for example.
Nice to hear hip hop with it's tongue firmly planted in cheek and not so serious as to give you a bit of a giggle.
Some wonderfully trashed up beats too which I love.
Smooth bass lines too........did you play those yourself ?
Nodding my head away here as I type this ;).
Love "Heads in a net" in a major way I might add - tight stuff.
Great groove/intro on "Let it go" and love he squawks and portamento in the lead line. Great for a groove in your seat and a real head bobbing groove.
Dig the slap bass in "Summertime Jump Off" - is that a P-bass with aged flat wound strings (nice tone) - inquiring minds would like to know.
Not a lot to critique really as it flows incredibly well and is very solid for a 15 track release.
Some of the production like on "Soft and Sweet" reminds me of the raw under-polished vibe of Neneh Cherry's "Homebrew" which IMHO is a grossly underrated album and still a perennial favorite of mine.
Great work on the vocals - they sit damn well in the mix too.
Sorry I've taken so long to get back to you.
Now to go listening to your other material
On a side note -
I've had a shingles outbreak in my ear canal which has paralyzed my VII cranial nerve and right side of the face and neck (will take several months for my face to return to normal, with some permanent nerve damage) . They initially thought it may have been a stroke until they did a barrage of test in hospital the other day. So this has been a welcome distraction from more pain than I'd wish on anyone and the steroids they are treating me with seems to be doing odd things to my blood sugars and throwing my insulin injection regime out of whack.
Thanks DP, You have cheered me up immensely. :)
Excuse any typos as the pain and headache are making it hard to concentrate effectively on what I am typing.
Dang thats crazy about your ear stuff, sorry to hear :(
To answer some of your questions
It is not "Slick da Relic" But I am friends with him as well, nice guy for sure. This Relic is of RIP productions. I actually met him when I was the director of a music video for an artist he produced named Step child, who also does appear in this album. Good people for sure!
Almost every bass line you hear on that album I actually play, and guitar/keys for that matter.
My two main Bass guitars are an old Yamaha bass that I have gigged with for 15+ years and yes it DOES have very old strings, that is what I played slap on for "Summertime" You can see a picture of it here http://drunkpedestrians.com/wp-conte...l/sany0053.jpg (it has a wicked cool paint job!) the other bass you will hear sometimes is an Ibanez 6 string that I am also very fond of.
I am glad my music could cheer you up and I hope you enjoy the album for a long time to come, please pass it along to your friends :) Thanks for the feedback!
