Subtractor might be better suited for Sub Bass.

The factory soundbank has plenty of Subtractor SubBass presets. My favorite is Hyperbottom. It isn't as subby as the LA Riot or Dirtysouth Bass, but the Hyperbottom is very smooth and sits well in a mix.

Most sub basses are very simple programs (usually the easiest of all synth sounds to program), just a sine wave or triangle wave oscillator.

An LP filter might be needed for the Triangle wave.

Getting the Amp Envelope, Monophonic/Legato/Portamento/Pitch bend stuff is probably the hardest task but a good subbass sound is much easier to program than a great lead or Pad sound.

The simplicity of the Subtractor should get you in the right direction. Thor while it gives you more control is probably overkill for something simple like a subbass unless you want extra elements in it like a hi synth or a blip transient at the beginning to accentuate the attack or make it sound audible on a weak system.

Good Subbass is more about good monitoring and mixing techniques than really the sound of the bass itself.

One the Printz Board Kong drums patches is pretty cool sounding for sub, that's the log drum patch in the bass drum folder.
