Reason 6, ASIO Digidesign Driver issue

Upgraded reason 5/record 1.5 to reason 6, windows 7 64-bit, now ASIO digidesign driver not showing up in preference/audio audio card driver list.

This can be because the ASIO driver version you use only has a 32-bit application component, and can only be used from 32-bit applications.

In that case it would be solved by updating the ASIO driver to one that works with 64-bit ASIO applications.

If you have the latest version and it still doesn't show up, you can try installing Reason 32-bit version and see if it shows up there.

Tried installing Reason 32-bit version. Still did not work.

Thanks

Strange. There is no difference between how Reason 5 gets the list of ASIO drivers, compared to Reason 6 32-bit.

Do you have access to any other ASIO application?
If you still have Reason 5 installed, trying with that would be a good test.
Any other DAW / pro-audio software should work too.

it is a problem with the digidesign architecture, i've been finding these threads all over AND have been providing a work around. after this i'm simply going to ask that you search the threads for one of those OTHER leangthy responses. but, for now.
download ASIO4ALL (v2). Google it, you will find it, the architecture is TRUE 32 bit (yes there is 64 as well) unlike digidesign which is actually two 16bit cores.
and it's a better made core as well. it is reverse engineered from the MAC Audio Core and has never let me down, i've been using it live for over 2 years worth gig'ing. once installed just locate the digi device your using and have fun. hope this helps.
like i said, google it. you'll find it.
and your welcome

Rod, please try my suggestion on page 3 in this thread: https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/...d.php?t=146957

If that does not solve it for you, please make a bug report, as mentioned after the instructions.

RODAMP have you tried the 32-bit version of ReCycle 2.2.1?

Here's how to install it:

1. Navigate to the folder containing "Install ReCycle.exe" using explorer
2. Right-click "Install ReCycle.exe" -> in context menu -> Create shortcut
3. Right-click the new shortcut -> in context menu -> Properties
4. In the target field, after the last quotation character, type " /32" (without quotes) -- i.e. one space followed by /32
5. Click OK
6. Run the shortcut to invoke Install Reason.exe with argument /32
