Reason 6 EDU Teacher and Student Edition?

Hello from Germany to the propellerheads Forum..

I've already asked google but I am unfortunately not become smart :(

maybe you can help me please ??

Is there any difference between the "normal Reason 6" and the "Reason 6 EDU Teacher and Student Edition"?
I've seen, it can save a lot of money if you buy an EDU version.

But I do not know if these versions are exactly the same?!

I have long time working with cubase and an additional amount of external equipment.
But unfortunately it was never really stable or comfortable. So now I have everything but my keyboard, the computer, my speakers and some external fx-machines sold.
And today is the day I had planned to buy Reason 6 for under the tree :)

I have been testet an old reason3 from a friend and also the reason6 demo.
Its an amazing tool and very easy to use if you switch from a real studio to a virtuall studio..

Great Job Propellerhead! Well done!

PS: My first Music Software was the ReBirth 338..
Now i´m Back :)

The Education versions are fully functional, they are just discounted in price for students or teachers.

fully functional with read and save files also ?

and that means i have all the units, samples, patches which have the real Version, right ?
and i can load EDU Files in a FULL Reason 6 ..?
and Reason6 files are able to load in Reason 6 EDU ?
and it is also possible to creat combinator patches and refills to share them?

there is no difference between those 2 versions ?

thanks a lot!

AFAIK these licences are sold by campus or local distibutors that also check if your eligible for such purchase.
If you upgrade later on you need to go the normal route anyway.
EDU version cannot be sold or transferred...

There's no difference in functionality, only in price.

The part i think you are not getting is that if you love Reason, you're probably going to want to upgrade in the future, with the EDU version you can't as Smedberg stated. So if you plan on staying with Reason you might want to buy Reason non-academic it'll be cheaper in the long run. If you buy v6 EDU and move up to V7 in the future it's going to cost you $499,I'm using V4 non-academic which would cost me $169 right now.

EDU is only for teaching organisations and can only be upgraded with EDU upgrades and licence can't be transferred. This edition supports network licence server!

Teacher/Student edition is discounted and can be upgraded with normal retail upgrades and licence can be transferred.

The functionality is identical in all editions!

A lot of retailers are selling the Student/Teacher Edition as EDU, just because most other companies name their academic versions that way. Time to clear up the version naming on the Props side, I think.

The packages are clearly marked so it's the retailers at fault. If you are sold Teacher!/Student edition at EDU edition price it's a great deal.
