The time is ripe for ReWire master and bi-directional audio

This topic has been brought up several times before but I think that now, after the release of Reason 6 and the fusion of Record, the time is ripe for making Reason a ReWire master and adding support for bi-directional audio in ReWire (and also the inclusion of MIDI Out).

These features would enable us to do things that aren't possible today. For instance if someone developed a VST Host that acted as a ReWire slave, and with the inclusion of MIDI Out, you could get a form of plugin support in Reason (i.e. you could sequence that VST Host from Reason and send the audio back into Reason and record it).

Ah well, most of these suggestions are known already.

I think the big problem right now is that many DAWs haven't even added 64 bit Rewire support yet in its current implementation.

That would be cool for people who like to sequence in Reason and use other DAWs for more smaller tasks.

It would also be cool to have a way to transfer audio between master and slave no matter who is the master or slave. That would give you the ability to send audio to certain DAWs that excel in audio editing or sending things back into Reason for timestretching or what not.

Also it would be cool if the spec got changed to where when you save your master project, your slave project also gets saved with the master.

I think those things would be cool but it is just a dream though.

great suggestion I think this should have been added when they made rewire 64 bit honestly

I would love to use Numerology in rewire with Reason, but I guess suggestions like these are too awesome and too obvious for Propellerhead to ever implement them. Just like Recycle integration.
