ID8 contest entry -- Tampering with the Evidence

Here is my contest entry for the Learn How to Reason (learnhowtoreason.com) ID8 songwriting contest. This song is made entirely with ID8 devices and reverb. I must say I am surprised how far I could take such a limited device. Hope you agree.

Lyrics:

Tampering with the Evidence (by Carl Grace)

I want things to be simple
I want things to be clear
I want to believe you
When you tell me you’re sincere

You say one thing today
Something else tomorrow
Why do you steal
When you could borrow?

Nothing is clear
Nothing makes sense
When you tamper with the evidence

Not thinking of truth
Always thinking of defense
When you tamper with the evidence

Never commit
Always sitting on the fence
When you tamper with the evidence

Not thinking of investment
Always thinking of expense
When you tamper with the evidence

I want to trust you
I want to believe
But how can I
When you’re so quick to deceive?

I don’t understand
What goes on inside
Why do you lie
When you have nothing to hide?

The hardest thing
In life to learn
Is what bridges to cross
And what bridges to burn
