OT: Game of Thrones

Great opener to the new season. GoT was imo the best US show last year after Breaking Bad.

So the news of Joffrey's parentage is no longer a secret. How the hell can Tyrion keep the lid on his actions? Who's the witch? What do you feed dragons? Where are the sons? What was the bed made of? Where's Neds' head?! Just how much as Ayra grown?! Who's gonna bring down the Hound?! Who stole Stannis sense of humour? Forget about enough grain for five years hard winter, does Kings Landing have enough wine to last five months with Tyrion about?

Questions, questions!

1 down, nine to go!

“Damn!” What’s this with everyone around here talking TV series all of a sudden?! I stopped watching TV after Record came out. And with R6 now and RE on the way, how do you guys expect to have any time to watch any TV?!!

Well, except maybe … um, and, uh … wait a minute … there’s … oh, and …

Haven't seen any of this series (or the other you mention)... I take it it's good? I think they've only been on Murdock TV here :(

Wondered where 006 went to since he left the UK ;)

Oh, it's definitely worth the, er... um... you know what I'm saying.

But I said nothing, I know nothing.

I might see if a friendly Murdoch supporter 'video recorded' them ;);)

Got to have English accents on american tv to show intelligence :>

Well, that was some baby-killing awesomeness right there!

Joffrey is so delightfully evil.

Hehe. Joffrey is a right little shit. Ironic thatCerys says "Power is power," but with Joffrey as King and making it quite clear he'd have her killed, and her father making Tyrion the Hand, all she actually has left is the name. Will that be enough?

A lot of ground was covered in s2e1, there were a few occasions where I wish they'd held the scene a bit longer (did anyone else think Daenyrus was going to cut up the horse for food?), but understandably with such a large cast they kind of had to cover everyone in the opening episode so we could re-establish where they all were in relation to each other plus make the new introductions. It was very much a scene-setting episode, and it set an awful lot of scenes ;)

Dinklage is so fucking awesome as Tyrion though. Possibly the best character actor on either US or UK TV right now with that role.

HBO have a nasty habit of axing their expensive epics after two or three seasons (Carnivale (2), Rome (2), Deadwood (3), when all needed at least one more run). It'll be interesting to see if they stick with GoT.

To my understanding Game of thrones was a massive hit so far.
G.R.R. Martin is a beast of an author, GoT being perhaps the biggest epic series of books written so far^^
and I guess they'll continue to produce it, since Martin himself is co producing and people just love it.
Haven't watched the other shows you mentioned, but I'm positive GoT will be finished.
