can't install balance driver

I have a hp dv6 w/ windows 7 64 bit and a AMD A8 quad core. When I connect the balance after installing reason essentials it installs and recognizes it as an ignition key, but cannot install the driver. I have tried with both the cd version and updated version of essentals. When I try to install the updated balance driver it goes to a blue screen and dumps the physical memory. I have tried to install it on my other computer and it worked just fine. Propellerhead support had never seen anything like it before.

Please Help

Also, my computer is brand new

Pity, I can't help further, but I've seen here some people who had the same issue & you always could search the forum...

Try a restore to before you installed any Balance drivers, install the latest drivers, plug Balance in to a USB 2.0 port. I have read there are issues with some AMD chip sets not implementing USB correctly. USB is an Intel technology.

went and exchanged my computer for one with an intel i5 and i am still having the same problem
at this point i think the balance is fucked, but it did install correctly on my older computer (has windows 7 and amd)

Check if there are any question marks in device manager then You will know which drivers are not installed.
Also try close all Codemeter software in task manager before plug balance in.

Maybe that will help

yeah, definitely check out the device manager and make sure balance is set to system standard, even better is to deactivate your onboard sound by right-clicking... Also make sure you install the balance driver FIRST, before plugging balance actually in.
If you are planning to use balance as your main audio driver, I`d definitely suggest to deactivate your azalia codec in the BIOS.

Tried all of those things and I still have the same problem, except for the BIOS because i am not really sure what that is or how to do it.

Have you contacted our support? They should be able to give you some help - so don't go exchanging your computer or Balance before you've talked to them! A problem I've seen before is that you plug in Balance BEFORE installing the latest drivers, making Windows install some other drivers that - to be blunt - fucks shit up. :)

Did you plug in Balance AFTER installing the latest drivers?

In any case, contact support - they can help much more than I can! :)
