What I'm playing on MIDI controller is not what's recording

Complete n00b here. Just getting started with Reason 6.

I am running on a MacBook Pro and have a M-Audio Keystation Pro88 connected via USB port.

I started recording a simple 4-bar pad with the Kong Effemme Pad patch - one chord held per bar. When I play on the keyboard or during recording, everything sounds great. When I play it back after recording it, I get the first chord, but the second bar will have one note held over and then the 3rd and 4th bar are completely blank. I have deleted the song and restarted from scratch, and even tried to reboot, but every time it is exactly the same.

Can you tell what is happening by the info I've given? Do you need more information? Thanks in advance for helping this newbie.

Figured it out. The keyboard has been in storage for about a year and the modulation wheel was all the way up. When I pulled it down, everything started working right! Okay, I'm good, and can't wait to dive into this software! (Former Cakewalk user)
