You've got the 4 GB RAM and a quad core CPU so you should be in business. I've got the Core 2 Quad CPU but only 2 GB RAM at the moment, and I need at least 3 GB to run my Alt Drums without glitches. To run Alt Drums and another sample intensive ReFill at the same time, 4GB is really a minimum.

I am also interested in this what is the difference between the 3 collections? or do you kinda need them all ??

No! Each of the three Alt Drums Packs has three drum sets each and each is a ReFill into itself. If you had one and didn’t know about the others, you’d never know you were missing anything. Here’s my take on it: https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/showthread.php?p=1097873&highlight=Pork#post109787 3 and that whole thread is about Alt Drums.

Hey ,

Thanks for the link.

Feel like a bit of a dick now after link searching, there is actually quite a bit of info on the prop site :S

Thanks MayorMcCheese. Are you running Reason 6.5.1?

Yes. I've had the pleasure of talking to some of the jocks around here about running into glitches with Alt Drums and other heavy sample ReFills like JP's Stratocaster and Telecaster jewels. And put any two of them together - BAM! They are the ones who turned me onto my current 2 GB RAM (soon to be 4 GB) being the problem. I'm WinXP3 32-bit so I'll max out at 3.5 GB, but that should be fine and dandy.

And this brings to mind: I’m so glad to see that Propellerhead changed the minimum basic Reason RAM requirements on this page: https://www.propellerheads.se/products/reason/index.cfm?fuseaction=get_article&article=faq#syste mrequirements . It now reads “2 GB (more highly recommended)”; until recently it read 1 GB. R6 even without sample ReFills is a new ballgame compared to Reason Legacy.
