not at all.... just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and understand the genesis of dance music first hand.

DJing at the weekend and going through old tunes... thought id share some of the important ones (the ones from when the UK adopted the detroit sound, made it their own and created the 'dance scene' as the world knows it).

Yeah yeah yeah. I was just thinking that between your language and apparent age alcohol was involved.
Actually Germany brought DT out of obscurity and gave it to the world. Granted the UK followed suit quickly after. Given that German electronic musicians were the primary influence on the DT artists the synergy was natural. The UK as they often do, reinterpreted it and refined it very stylishly, as they did with Dub, Reggae and Sound System culture (to say nothing of Blues, R&B and Rock n Roll).
Drum & Bass was the UK's real gift to the world.

Imo anyway.

At first, recalling the very worst soul-drained eurotechno still not erased by 1.5 million euro of electro-convulsive therapy, I thought to myself, "That's like the undead vampires in Daybreakers expecting gratitude from their victims for giving them eternal life!" But then I realised I was being unreasonable and there might be some truth in this comment. Thank you!

Had to look up flol. Fake lol?

Just ask Juan, Derek, and the rest, who first put out comps of their stuff and flew them to Europe to give them gigs. It wasnt the UK. But whatever.
