Sony Vegas and Reason 2012

I use Vegas Pro 8 right now, but started with version 2, then 3. I didn't know that about rewire, so I may load up 3 and check it out. Sony's planning on releasing v12 soon, and I'm hoping to upgrade.

The closest thing I have atm for Vegas+Reason is an animation done in After Effects, music in Essentials, and final render in Vegas...

I've used Vegas for a couple of audio projects, but have switched to Reaper.

Vegas Pro supports VST, so I have issues with getting good audio tools, but... the UI only let's you open one VST window at a time. So I can't have a spectrum analyzer displayed while adjusting ew, for example.

Off topic, I know, but the European equivalent of Vegas is Nuendo. I believe that Steinberg and Propellerhead developed Rewire together, so there is certainly an option for stable, high-end integrated A/V production in conjunction with Reason there. I have only used Nuendo for audio production. It's spendy, but very deep and good to work with.

Yeah, I wouldn't compare them as alternatives. Vegas is a video production suite with audio plugin capability and nuendo is an audio production suite with video playback functionality...
Two very different pieces of software.

Isn't Nuendo an audio DAW rather than an equivalent to Vegas (which is a video NLE with some audio capability)?

you can drag a movie in Cubase and do all the 5.1 music and sound fx in there way better then in vegas or nuendö but it cost way more since it's a very very pro software !

Hi Arthur,

Where was the opening scenes of 'Nourishment' shot? That place looks incredible - reminds me of a scene from 1983's Krull. :D Also, what FPS did you record your video (and render at)?

I also use Vegas Platinum Studio 10, but it's mostly home movies. My skills aren't quite respectable enough to move into films or music videos.
