Recommended monitor configuration
Hi, what’s the general census on monitors for using Reason – two 22” or so monitors or a single monitor of a recommended size and manufacturer?
Trying to stay within a £200 budget for a single monitor which admittedly narrows my options!
I have two monitors at the moment but thinking of using a single.

I would say 3 and as big as you can afford. 3 monitors would be the perfect setup for Reason and then having one really widescreen one which you can put on it's side to have the mixer and all or most of it's functions on the screen right there. The center one for the sequencer and the third one showing the rack :)

Dual monitors at least, and the biggest you can afford. I run with the SSL on one and the Rack/Sequencer on the other, though I change it around sometimes. There's no rules - it's whatever works best for you!

You could get a 27/28 inch monitor for around £200, look at hanns g and samsung syncmaster.

Using one 24" wide-screen + the function keys to switch between the 3 main windows and prefer this way of working. You could also switch between unattached windows fairly easy with alt+tab on a Windows machine. Whatever you prefer. :)

I like the one BFM concept myself. I then use the F5, F6 & F7 keys to switch between the 3 windows.

I have 2 x 24" and 1 27"

27 in. sequencer
1 24 in. rack (landscape)
1 24 in. mixer (portrait)

I'm mostly using it on my laptop without a second display right now, but I really prefer having a second display hooked up whenever I can. The size does matter, but for me having 2 17-20" monitors would be more useful in Reason than 1 22".

A widescreen 24" or 27" might be large enough to keep everything you need to see on the screen though, and it would be more useful for some other applications. Try to look at what else you want to use them for and that might make the decision easier. :)

Which graphics card are people using to run three monitors?
