Scratch Disc Problems Mac
I cant start up reason 6 anymore on my mac, I hope someone out there can help me out.
This is what happens:
I press the reason icon to startup Reason 6 and I get this message:
"The system default folder cannot be used as Scratch Disk folder, probably because you don’t have sufficient write permissions. A valid scratch disk folder is required for the program to run. Please select another Scratch Disk folder."
I press ok, and a window appears for me to choose another scratch folder.
I try to select all kinds of folders but whatever folder I choose I get this message:
"The selected folder cannot be used as Scratch Disk folder, probably because you don’t have sufficient write permissions. Please select another Scratch Disk folder."
How can I solve this problem, is there a default scratch folder I dont know about??
You might have to re-install Reason 6.
The first thing to look at would be are the folders you're trying to set inside your Home folder (in Users/YourName)? If so, right-click (or control-click) on the folder you want to set it to in Finder, and select Get Info.
That should bring up a window with "Sharing & Permissions" at the bottom. In that section you should see your name with "Read & Write" next to it. If you don't, you need to change it so that you can write to that location.
If it's already set to Read & Write and you're not too familiar with how permissions work, you might want to do what beatsknocking suggested and reinstall Reason to get rid of any permissions problems that may be coming from there.
