Focusrite Sapphire 6

I'm considering purchasing the Focusrite Sapphire 6 USB interface.
What's the "word on the streets" about this unit? Has anyone had any experiences with it?

How's the latency and the preamp if you know?

yeah I've got this too and it's pretty solid it's my third sound card in twwelve months and I'm quite settled with this one I play my bass live through it and latency is pretty good I'm afraid I can't be any more technical than that but needless to say if it was bad I wouldn't be able to play live through it. with regards to the pre amp it's quality and level the best I've ever owned again can't be to technical. also the first sound card I found that works on windows 7 64 and we've been getting regular driver updates. oh and it's in a metal case \,,/

I have a Scarlett 8i6, which is pretty much the same thing, with the addition of some modeling software. I love it to pieces.

Latency is laughable and the pres are better than anything I've ever had. Have previously had an M-Audio FTU (nothing but problems for me, although they did replace the unit TWICE)... Have also had a Presonus Firebox and a Line 6 UX-1. That line 6 was rock solid, even if a little entry-level. The Focusrite is by FAR my favorite. Solid little thing. Amazing preamps for the price point.. Much better than the FTU.

I went for the 2i2 and it's indeed a really good interface. Low latency and the pre's are clean as can be. Love the sound and the unit is solid as can be. Glad i went for it :)

have to agree with the above positive remarks - i use the saffire 6 and the pre amp quality for vox , guitar and bass is really really good. definitely the best i've used

Latency wise it sit's around 7 -10ms depending on your track which is more than adequate for realtime playing /recording. It's a solid piece of kit for the money (knobs are metal not plastic as well as the casing) and has 24Bit 48.000khz audio(in & out), it also has standard MIDI in and out ports which is more reliable than a standard USB-MDI leads you buy plus ideal for synths that don't use the USB protocal. It only requires USB power from the computer so no power adaptor required.

Ideal for a small studio setup or to expand upon in the future.
Reputable company.
