Scratching like a record

Is it possible to take samples or rex files and immitate what a mixer and turntable do with scratching like a DJ?

If anyone have a theory please share. I had something going combinding the vinylizer and the buffre. LOL.

Read this thread.. https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/...d.php?t=169024 .. There's a book "Reason 3 Overdrive" that goes into two in depth ways to accomplish this. Here is a sample: http://my.safaribooksonline.com/book...s/ch10lev1sec4 . If you like it, buy it!

If i had to i would chop the sample, reverse ,and cut the volume on and off maybe change pitch a little too jus to see what happens.if you have money export to CD then use one of those digital thing to sratch

If you need to do a bunch of scratching I would just pick up this RE

http://shop.propellerheads.se/product/sb-vinylizer/

Otherwise here are some videos on how to build it

Pretty cool link!! I know the way the book goes about it, is using the actual sample that you want to scratch and the duplicating and reversing the duplicate. Not sure if this offers you anymore flexibility with the scratch, being that the that the scratches are so heavily pitch modulated, that it sounds like an "actual" scratch. I think the vid's way might be more efficient for most purposes. Good look!

If you grab my Scratch Techniques free refill, you could sample scratched stuff into it as a new patch, to play/perform with. Might work well in tandem with some other techniques.
Just another suggestion among the many ;)

Thi is an interesting thread. How about a Re that can read and transcode Code-cds or Code-Vinyl?? Or a RE that work only as a "virtual Turntable" so we can use it for controlling sample playback?

isn't it a good Idea? :)

Thank you man. Got it. And done it that way. But I want my pitch wheel to control the speed of the sample. I wired the Vinylizer and Buffre together and almost got it. but something wasnt complete. Lol. Thank you though. By the way I checked you out on sound cloud.
