New 80s style song made with Bitley's Fairlight Platinum

I've been really getting deep into Bitley's awesome Fairlight refill. I wrote this song that totally sounds like the mid-80s to me. Hope you all like it!

Master of My Heart

It’s nice to believe
Good things come to those who wait
But you always have that fear
You’re already too late

You are the master of my heart
I just try to play my part
You are the master of my heart
You made my life start

Sometimes your destiny
Is just right where you are
Sometimes your true life
Isn’t really that far

I thought I had it all
I thought I was happy
But when I finally had something to lose
My heart did not belong to me

Great song Carl!

I can hear lots of 80s artists in here - Erasure, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, PetShop Boys, Jan Hammer..., did I mention Depeche Mode? :-)

Big sound, great arrangement.

cheers
Raymond

Fairlight Platinum? That's where the cool percussive keyboard sound came from.

Actually every sound on that song except for one Polysix was Fairlight Platinum. That refill is a total goldmine.

Thanks man, it is pretty 80s isn't it. Those sounds are something else.

Yep it's a great refill - and you used it well Carl!

Great job on this song Carl! I think it's one of your best works yet!

Good stuff again, Carl. As with "Natural Progression" there's something more that I'd like to hear on the vocals, but I'm having trouble defining it. "Louder" isn't it, but something to bring them out of the mix more. (I do hear the doubling, which is a very nice touch.) A hint of delay or chorus, like Phil Collins? Some compression? A sidechained compressor/EQ to scoop out a place in the instruments while the voice is going? (That may be it.) It's the step that will take your mixes into the fully professional realm. Maybe a more experienced producer will see this and chime in.

A nice tool (Bitley's refill) put to very good use - 80s galore. I would chime in with ryszard, though - don't be too shy with the vocals. ;)
