Focusrite saffire usb 6 vs scarlett 8/6

Need advice

Just bought the saffire usb 6 and pretty dissapointed, 7ms in settings results in 16ms latency in reason (cant go lower), my 5 years old audiophile 2496 100 bucks has 3ms in reason.

So if any of you has tried one or both of them, can you tell me if the scarlett has better latency.

I of course contacted them but would like more input, need to decide, do I just return it and keep audiophile for now (main problem is that I am stuck at 16bit). or bouther to try the scarlett.

If it helps, using usb 2.0, xp sp3, quad core hp desktop.

Thanks

Try using ASIO4ALL

I use that with my Scarlett 2i2 and get lower latency than with the native Focusrite drivers.

For the sake of 4ms, it's harldy worth paying the extra imop unless you want the other features, I mean thats real time and in any case you may need to adjust to a higher latency anyway for the playback of much larger complex tracks you make.

I got the Scarlet 2i2 and it probably has the same driver as the 8i6. The lowest it goes is 1ms (setting) and 6ms (Reason).

Did you not read that I am currently stuck at 16bit with my recording hence the main reason I am switching

plus I say reason reads 3ms with audiophile and with the saffire it reads 16ms in reason (7ms in settings), so its a 13ms difference in reason.

No disrespect but please take time to read and understand the post when you answer.
