can i change midi focus from the devices view?

I know that I can go to sequencer view to click on a different channel to focus my midi controller on that sound source. Is there a way to do that without leaving the rack/devices view?

OS X, Reason 6.5
Akai MPK25, Akai MPD32 devices.

No. There are ways to easily flip your screen to the correct Sequencer channel/instrument/track from the SSL mixer: but the Sequencer Track Lane (left side) is the only place that you can activate the instrument for keyboard control.

There are good logical reasons for this as a “failsafe” mechanism for recording correctly and this question comes up often so you are not alone. But, if Propellerhead were to provide an option to do it as is or not, this place would probably be flooded with users saying that they recorded hours of what they thought would be piano and it was cowbell instead. And of course they’d blame Propellerhead instead of it being of their own mistake.

Well you still have to switch sequencer tracks, but you can do that from your MIDI controller.

Just assign your preferred controls to Options->Additional Remote Overrides->Target Preivous Track and Target Next Track.
