REASON6 Demo version
Because I am still new to computer recording I have deownloaded a demo version fo reason 6 onto my laptop. I usually have my yamaha dgx 230 keyboard connected to this computer via usb cable. I also have ableton live 8 Soundcloud edition, Native Instruments Kontakt 5 and Reaktor 5. These play throught my keyboard and I am able to use them as VST instruments when I record onto my main DAW, REAPER which is installed on my dedicated Dell Optiplex 320 desktop computer. My question is why am I unablt to use reason in the same fashion as the other software....I can only play it using the onscreen keyboard, hence my laptop keys. I want to evaluate the functions of this software fully before I spend 400.00 bucks for the actual thing. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Go to "Edit > Preferences > Control Surfaces" to set up your master keyboard. If it doesn't appear in the drop down list, select "other manufacturer" to use its basic functions at least.
Hi, have you assigned the keyboard following the instructions in preferences? You have to set it up before using it, then I always assumed that it's the same with all DAWs!
