Theres a tape emulation setting on the Scream 4 I have never used the Steven Slate guy but I am sure they have to be similar right?

UAD Studer is my favorite one.

Very subtle effect but it does smoothen your high end, and add a bit of compression and tape saturation, and it has a lot more controls than the Scream device.

Haven't tried the Slate audio one though.

Scream is more of a in your face effect, but it does sound good when the damage type is backed off a lot and volume compensated.

The slate digital analog tape plugin will blow away everything out there!!! I would never put scream on the stereo buss...its not transparent enough...reason needs slate or the eddie kramer master tape plugin....and the slate still sounds better on the mix buss, or when mastering...thats the only missing link!!! Tape is transparent? Isn't the whole idea of having tape to get the saturation these days? Idk I haven't used either of these plug ins which is why I am asking

I love that stuff but I wasn't saying you can't have transparent and fat I actually think transparent should make for fatter sounds because of less dirt in the way but that's why I ask because wouldn't one want saturation these days if they were going to use the coloration from tape? Otherwise they would be better off with digital because it is totally transparent right?
