Ambient track - feedback? Please :)

Ambient track - would like some feedback mainly about the mastering but if you like the track show some love for that too ;)
This is a track I did in college one lesson and thought it would be good to experiment with the mastering in reason.
I did some multiband compressing for the mastering - 3bands that all feed into a maximiser/limiter.
Band 1 - sub
Band 2 - 100hz to 1khz
Band 3 - 1khz and above
All with similar but slightly different compression settings for better control over the whole mix.
It's quite a deep track with a big sub so if you're on laptop speakers you won't get this track at all, decent speakers or headphones will suit.

Very good VDubstep ' ambeience is not somthing i really listen to , how about throwing-in the "dripping Taps effect"! rather like being in a Huge Cave listening to "Reverbed water drops" carry them with huge amounts of Verb-DECAY ' almost endless in the 5th 6th 7th octave range / Soundscape! i recomend [RV7000] ! Ps i think the mastering sounds ok ' Subb sounds good / Kit sounds good '

I like the way you've contained that massive sub bass!

Nice suggestion, I had thought about adding in some effects and textures like that. Might have to try that with some manipulation see what that sounds like. Thanks for the feedback as well, much appreciated.

Thanks, I really wanted to make it stand out without drowning everything else. The multiband compression helped a lot, I tried a mastering template for a comparison and there was massive pumping so I'm quite happy myself with the way I tried to handle everything.

nice one :) I suggest a little bit of reverb on the snare and I´d really like to hear those background pads louder ;)

DIGITUS 2012-12-03 09:14

Good stuff! The pads sound fine to my ears. Over all I think the mix levels are pretty much spot on. That bass is so warm and fuzzy...https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/...ons/icon14.gif

Cheers dudes! Glad everyone likes the track :)

can´t help, everytime I listen to the song I feel like I wish I could turn the pads up :-)
