IDEA FOR A NEW RE. . . DEVELOPERS LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK (Jiggery Pokery!)

Rack Extension:

"SIDE STEP"

SIDE STEP is a 16 CV channel step sequencer specifically for Kong. The steps should be in a color palette that is easy on the eyes for fast sequencing. You guys know I'm pro FL Studio but I'm slowly but surely making that transition over to Reason lol. You know what I'm getting at, make easy and simple like this:

http://imamusicmogul.com/wp-content/...cer480x320.png

On each of the sixteen lanes, there can be selections of the time signatures/quantization features for the steps to make rolls and triplets easier. Each step can be edited for velocity.

Left Click to enter steps
Right Click to delete
-OR-
Left Click to enter/Left Click again to delete.

64 step max -OR- 16 Bars.

Export to midi function. When the midi is exported it can be placed in the Kong sequencer as a midi event -OR- somehow the pattern put into SIDE STEP automatically becomes a midi event.

Let me know what you guys think. . . Additions?

We totally need a proper, normal, no-hassle step sequencer, ochens probability stuff is cool but I don't know for the life of me why he doesn't allow to change the gate levels.. ;) Matrix is cool and all but ReDrums and Thors step sequencers just feel a little different ^^

I guess people still hope for some "pattern to MIDI track" feature for REs, which is apparently missing atm. So it would only work with CV. But yeah, I agree 100%, I'd buy it immediately :D

:)

My next RE will be submitted on Monday, so the "few weeks" comments have been a tease that hopefully will only be a week or two depending on PH's approval time.

No "copy to sequencer" feature available for REs yet. Will be an immediate update release on my part when the SDK allows that.

My RE does have a sequencer that has elements like what is described above. You'll all just have to wait and see :)

Great to hear, damn, that SDK pretty lame though! :)

Sometimes, I wish for something like this to be released... The perfect companion to Kong!

Let's suppose that each button controls the velocity, so that there is one CV out for each drum line...

Plus, it would be SDK friendly! :D

Edit: added Steps, Gate and Speed buttons! :D

cool idear , I could really use that 4 kong but : placing notes at 1/128 and speed up to 1/128 would make it a super RE
also I could see a drum stutter tools in it but thats a fantasie ;)
dont forget that some users link drums in kong exemple (pad 1/clap linked to pad2/clap) and this need to be thinked about so the patterns dont bug out .

If someone's going to do this, would it also make sense to add delay knobs to each row/lane? Then we could start to use it to build guitar strummers...
