Interface

Hi everybody,
I am going to purchase Reason 6.5. Until now I used Cubase. The interface I used was E-MU 1616M. I did some research, looks like the E-MU won't works with Reason, especially if I'm going to use it with Windows 7. Would you please recommend what interface and what controller-keyboard I can go with. I prefer to stay in low-mid price range. Thank you in advance.

That's kind of vague - there's dozens of soundcards out there at dozens of price points. Can you be more specific? How much do you want to spend, and what kind of i/o do you want?

Otherwise we'll just say get Balance, since it's the best soundcard you can have for Reason. :D

That said, the E-MU 1616M has ASIO support, and that's all Reason needs to work with your soundcard. What kind of research did you do? Where did it say that the E-MU 1616M didn't work with Reason even though it has ASIO drivers?? *EDIT: nevermind, I think you're saying that the drivers don't support Windows 7. Meh.. time to update your soundcard afterall! :S

What makes you think it won't work with Reason? --makes ZERO sense.

It might be because the E-MU 1616M apparently doesn't have Windows 7 drivers (Creative stopped supporting it after Windows Vista). I didn't realize it at the moment I made my post. :S
