I just changed my Imac. After transferring my old songs reason (. Rns and. Reason) on my new computer, I can't open the files. I'm sure, I properly reinstall the cd reason 6. It works great except for read my old songs.
This is the message that appears when I try to open an old song:
The operation could not be performed because the device access is denied. "
Anyone have an idea?
For soon I hope.
I don't have MAC, so I'm not really sure, but my hunch is that the OS thinks the files belong to a different user - the one on the old computer.
Use the Administrator account to change the ownership and/or access privileges to match your user name or to allow all users to access the files.
If that's not it, someone with MAC is going to have to chime in.
In accord to Steve´s post check the permission of the .rsn file(s) in question.
Highlight the file, hit cmd+i and have a look in the sharing & permissions column if your account has "read&write" privileges.if not you´ve to change it by clicking on the little lock, enter your admin password
and alter it accordingly.
If there are more files you can do it one by one or the quick and dirty way.
Put all files which you can´t access into a folder and change permission of this folder like i described above w/ one addition.Click on the rack wheel and choose "apply to all enclosed items",confirm the dialogue by hitting enter and you´re done.
