Anansi or Stereo Splitter?

Which do you guys think is better? Stereo Splitter by Quadelectra or Anansi by Jiggery-Pokery? :D

Obviously depends on its application but personally (and I do have and use both) I prefer Stereo Splitter. It has much more to offer in the way of functionality.

I made this decision just the other day. What it came down to for me was that I looked at the back panel. I expected to see 2 ins (stereo) and 3 outs (1 mid, 2 sides). Stereo Splitter gave that to me (actually the mid has two outs - both the same, for convenient routing to other stereo stuff), so I understood it just from the picture. I didn't see that from Anansi, though it probably does that, maybe more.

I went with Stereo splitter for that reason. Does what I expected and I understood it immediately.

True mid/side encoders have the side signal as mono.

...maybe, but then you have to split it and flip the phase on one side and route it yourself. Stereo Splitter is more immediately useful for me this way.

Stereo splitter is like having Anansi and Itsy. Not sure how useful Anansi and Itsy would really be separately (for me). I do use Mordred and Shelob...

Although Stereo splitter has more features, when I looked at the rear of both devices, I couldn't understand what was going on with Stereo splitter, it was a bit confusing because of the mono signal mentioned above. I went with Anansi.

if you read the manual of stereo splitter it's crystal clear.

Anansi and Itsy but then again, I'm biased ;-)

I only heard about mid/side splitting fairly recently when Peff did a video about it! Before that I'd never heard of the technique :o But I think I grasp the basic idea. It makes a lot of sense so I'm fascinated with these devices. But like the OP I'm confused about which one I'd find most useful & I don't fully appreciate the differences between the two or why they matter
