ECF-42 issue

So I have a section in my song that I take one of my wobbles and use an automated ECF-42 LP filter on it. As soon as I automate to enable the track goes crazy. For a split second it sounds like the entire song compresses and the volume drops. The funny thing is on the mixer nothing happens and it only happens if I play the song from the very beginning.

I can work around this buy duplicating the device and only using the duplicate for the filter sweep but I really shouldn't have to do that. Any idea's?

I imagine there's a compressor somewhere in your master inserts, and the sharp transition of the Enable switch creates a short but loud click which causes the compressor to kick in.

Try using automation to briefly mute the mixer channel just before and while the switch is flipped.

lol I'm a knob. I haven't tried your solution but I think it's probably what's going on. I do have a compressor in my mastering section so it's probably going haywire from the automation because it sounds like massive over compression.

I'll have to try this today thanks :D
