A Vocal (centre channel) extractor/remover device

truly a godsend for remixers this device could extract the vocals from the middle of a mix making acapellas much more accessible.

and (in the case of the vocal remover) for mcs and rappers who need the backing without the vocals etc in the middle stereo field

that would be the coolest device going

Take one of the M/S decoders and turn down the mid signal? Or maybe just invert the phase by 180°, cut the lows and mix it back in (also with the mid channel), then it should cancel out the voice but not the bass/bass drum too much.

Here, I created a simple vocal remover (didn't test it a lot) using Anansi and Jiggerys Mid/Side router, as well as Yoko for the splitting: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o4r9zhbaaf...oiceRemove.cmb

As for acapellas, those will always need to be stems. You can't simply extract a vocal from a song cleanly. There will always be some remainder of the original song left. Your best bet is to filter and gate the song to remove as much as you can.

There's a vocal eliminator combinator patch in factory sound bank under all effects >> utility.

...and a '52 weeks' tutorial
