Is this good mixing? New Order/Muse/Datarock influenced new song!

Would sure love some feedback! Does something sounds crappy on your speakers, shout it out:)
The song includes heavy use of Jiggery Pokery's refill King of Kongs, and
Ryan Greene's Alt Drums III. Huge, standing ovation for these Refills!

Bump - New version - added regroove patch to the shakers, and moved the kicks off the grid to make the drums sound more human. I'm very pleased with the sound of this right now, but I friend of mine wants me to get the song mastered at a professional studio. He thinks that.."You cant do more in that hobby-program of yours".. but I told him its more likely to be my own lack of more knowledge, rather than boundaries within Reason.
So my question is - have any of you sendt your songs to mastering?
I think I will check out the possibilies, but I will pay to see what they do.. So I might learn something:)

Not on the best headphones right now but I can hear things clearly, nothing sounds too cluttered and it has a nice feel to it. Nothing seems to be really competing for space either but like I said I'm not on the best headphones right now - which is probably a good thing because you can know how it will sound to the majority.
My only criticism is the vocal sounds a bit too dry in places so maybe add a little something for a bit more flavour but only needs to be subtle as it is a nice vocal, what you add is up to you or if you add anything.

As for mastering, there are benefits to it definitely and they will also listen to your mix and tell you if anything needs fixing in the mix before they master. Find a good mastering house and sit in with the engineer, I've heard of some people paying a bit more to be run through the process and sit in with the guy doing it so you'd probably get more for your money.
Nice song by the way

The mix sounds very good to me!

I think the mix is fine actually for the type of music. Guitars are nice sounding - liking the tone on the mini solos/fills.

Unique sound and good mix. However, add a taste of verb or something to the vocals and you're on your way.

Thanks for your feedback! Good point also, the majority of listeners are using "not so good" headphones.. :) Therefore I also mix on standard Koss Porta pro occasionally.

Totally agree on the vocals part, will try to add some more reverb to my vocals, or lower the compression of the reverb. As for now, I have a compressor on the reverb of my vocals, and I feed a dry signal into the sidechain part to make the reverb duck whenever I am singing (thanks Gary Bromham:)), may have to adjust this a bit.

I will contact some mastering studios soon, when I get the vocals under controll. Hope to learn something:)

I like the sound in general,

I agree, a bit of reverb would help warm the track up a bit, and personally would turn the drum kit down a little, slightly distracting if you know what I mean?

:)

I like it. As has been discussed above I think the vocals need some work yet, but once that's sorted you'll have yourself a choon!
