Hello everyone,

Just a question. I bought a Balance interface and am trying to get it to work with my computer. Installed drivers, connected it to a proper USB-port, everything lights up, can listen to music/sounds through the headphones jack and listen to my guitar when "listen to this device" is selected in the Windows audio properties.

My predicament, however, is that I cannot seem to activate Balance ASIO in Reason Essentials. How come? Tried reinstalling drivers, rebooting etc to no avail.

I can activate ASUS ASIO on my Xonar HDAV1.3 soundcard with no issues.

Uninstall drivers, unplug interface, reboot, install drivers, connect interface, enjoy

I generally know my way around computers and hardware and thought I'd done that, but to humour your suggestions I went ahead and did it in exactly that order.

Didn't help though. ASIO Balance appears in the list, but it's crossed when selected. ASIO ASUS works, windows output drivers (DX etc) works. Can listen to music through it, just doesnt want to work with Reason.

I'd try another USB port. Also, what OS are you on? What version of Balance drivers are you using?

I've tried three different USB ports, all on the backside of the computer.
Drivers are the latest ones from this site, ver 1.1.0. OS is Windows 8 x64.

And as I said, it gives sound. Both input and output, on their own. It just doesn't work with ASIO (or Reason)...

Does anyone from Propellerheads read this forum, or should I send them an E-mail about this?

Plenty of Propellerheads read this forum, but not from support. You should submit an actual support request through the website for an actual solution.

If you've stumbled upon an issue privy to your system, the Propellerheads will get you sorted.

I wonder what their average response time is.

I realise it's only been 2.5 days, but this issue is getting on my nerves and I can't really get around it any way either (no workaround or quick-and-dirty fix).

Did you receive the acknowledgement when you logged the call?

ASIO requires exclusive access so make sure nothing else is locking Balance, including the 'listen to music through this device' you mentioned earlier.
