Roland A-800 Pro map?
I am new to reason (I'm using Essentials) and just bought the A800 to use with it. At first I just wanted a controller with great keys and didn't care about the knobs and sliders, but now I'd like to investigate getting the most out of it with Reason. I'm bummed that neither Reason has the Roland in their list, or Roland has a Reason control map. So I hear I need to do it manually. This is where I'm stuck. How do I figure out what midi message Reason wants to see from each controller input? Anyone out there have a great map they could share for this puppy? Thanks!
from what I can tell, this seems to be the same as the Cakewalk A800 Pro for which Reason and Essentials have support.
What happens if you click Auto-Detect in the Preferences/Keyboards and Control Surfaces dialog in Reason Essentials?
If that doesn't find the keyboard, try to add it manually as a "Cakewalk A-PRO Series" keyboard.
Oh man, I can't believe I missed that. THANK YOU!!! It didn't auto sense but picking the cakewalk board did the trick. The only thing that doesn't seem to do anything are the sliders (S1-S9). I was hoping that would control the mixer levels. I could be missing something though. Thank you again!
Just figured out that the sliders are by default mapped to the selected instrument. Which is fine. At least now I know.
Man am I having such a blast with this software.
