Asus Z77 Sabertooth > what Heatsink/Cooling?

Hello,

I'm in process of a current rebuild.

Anyone here use the Asus z77 sabertooth? What Heat Sink/ cooler are you using? I will be using the i7 3770k processor and want the option of
overclocking as well if I need.

I'm trying to find an air cooler that is quiet that will fit and do the job if I also want to overclock without over heating.

finding one that will work with the sabertooth has been puzzling to me as there seems to be clearance question regarding not fitting properly by getting in way of Ram slot.

oh I will be using Low profile vengance ram however.

any suggestions out there? I really do not want to use water cooling. I'd rather stay with air cooling.

thanks

You might look into Noctua's low-profile, silent line. Couple pics of one here: http://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-L12-.../dp/B007C861WO

Thanks. I looked at it. Looks impressive. But I'm installing it into a rack case. It looks like the fans only exhaust upwards. in a rack Id rather have the fans pointed toward the back to exhaust the heat.

Hi, you may want to post on other forums such as bleepingcomputer.com. Some helpful folks there when I was selecting a new motherboard and processor.

Yeah, www.overclock.net is another good one for stuff like this. There are even divisions for modding specific cases, etc.

I've got the same motherboard and CPU, but I don't have a rack case - it's a full size (Fractal R4). My cooling solution is all air and completely silent, but it's massive in size:

What kind of case did you get? 2U? 4U?

Ya I looked at that one. It looks to be massive 120mm fan. It would be to tall for the rack case.

I've got a 4U rack Case. I think I may go with this one as it looks like it will fit in the case and will work with the board and socket.

the dimensions look to work.
