I want to make music like this, help?

Hey guys I want to move onto making music like this but I don't know where to start

by listening to this track can you give me any tips and tricks of whats going on in this song to make it sound so dreamy and wet?
What are teh things he's doing to the percussion to make it sound liek that?
what is that wet dripping noise in the back ground?
whats going on with that violin? is it combined with a pad? HEELLLPP
What kind of effects are added? Is it compressed heaps? not a lot?

Best thing I can suggest is just to experiment. That's the only way you'll ever be able to get anywhere near Bonobo or Lapalux in terms of production skill or style. People on the forum may well be able to tell you how to emulate the sounds in one track, but you'll still be lagging behind these artists because they've put in their thousand hours.

Time and experimentation will get you there :)

I don't even know what kind of synths are required to get to here brother. I've learnt a lot by copying people's set ups and then tweaking them because then I know what settings will get which sounds.
