If "RE" stands for "Ruinously Expensive" the you are right. :-)

I apologize for the tease, y'all! But hey, would be cool =)

;-) No need to apologize. Indeed, would be cool. It's not impossible to see an original MOOG RE in the PropShop, someday. I mean, MOOG MUSIC INC. has proven that they can create stunning and great sounding software instruments........ see ANIMOOG for the iPad. So, why not having something similar as a RE? Who knows?

True. Mine was more of a play on the new feature of MIDI out. It will be impossible to ever have a true analog RE—thus being able to have Reason control and record a real analog synth is a dream come true. But on the other hand, would certainly be very cool for Moog (if not Arturia) to bring over some Moog stuff to put right in the Reason rack =)

I've had Viking on trial and can't decide whether or not to buy... not being a Moog afficionado, what do you guys think of it as a Moog-style synth?

yes I am in as well, can't wait. I know as soon as I buy mine the 49 key version will be out.

For me, the Sub Phatty is a great addition to the Moog line. I don't need another keyboard though so I'll wait for the sound module version to add to my growing retro midi hardware zoo. I was told by a Moog insider that the sound module is planned for later this year so I hope it will be available by summer NAMM.

I have a suggestion for those who like sound modules. Midi Solutions makes the Quadra Thru box for $50. You can run four synths or modules from one master synth or controller. I've assigned a different channel to each module, and switching is quick and painless from the master synth. As a midi noob it took a while to figure this out, so I thought I would throw that tip out in case anyone else is in the same state. Midi out on Reason 7 is perfect timing.
