Proppellerheads please don't forget this:

The ability to choose several faders and turn their volume down at the same time, regardless of their values, like one does normally on other daws.

You're doing a great job with Reason 7 !

Keep it up !

I've always wanted to be able to do this. No mention if R7 will be able to do this, so I'll still +1 this request.

Uhhh dudes, that's what busses are for :D

normen 2013-03-16 19:09

Nah, not quite. Most mixing desks and DAWs have groups *and* buses and its good they do :)

Dave909 2013-03-16 19:12

Well, they can be used for the same thing can't they? :D

Not really. A group lets you also change other things like pan or compressor settings over multiple channels. Similarly when I put a fader group on all drums I don't need to use a bus for that, each bus means a lot of DSP for the desk (or its analog / digianalog and you only have so many anyway).

Dave909 2013-03-16 19:21

I've been wondering about this indeed. I can think of analog being a problem due to gain and stuff but indeed digital will add DSP when bussing tracks together. Will it be alot tho? I mean if you just use it to control faders respectively.

Yes, you mix the sound sources at some point, so its at least the addition of all samples. For a group you only control the volume which is done anyway.

Yeah, then it would be really nice to have groups to go along with the busses :D For me the only thing i need is a way to group my million vocal tracks, lol

I used to always attempt this...as it felt natural to shift+select several faders and try to move them together. Like Dave, I figured that the channel grouping included in 7 would address this well...
