Music Forum Should have Directories by Genre | Like the Following:
Hi guys! Still looking out for this forum and hoping that one day it will get the face lift it deserves.
The overall structure of the Music Forum should be something like:
I've just went around on a few pages and gather some of the music that gets posted here. It really shows the diversity in this forum and why we need a better directory structure for ease of browsing by users.
There are many genres/sub genres missing, but you get the idea. :)
Propellerhead: Something like this shouldn't be that hard to implement and we'll all love you for it.
It would break the forum layout too much.
Most people add the genre to the title anyway when they post music and the search function is just a click away.
I like the idea as it would be easy to diffrentiate stles. But, I am sad to say my style/genre you probably not get much attention. With the current format I can slip my stuff in on the sly and people will listen and give a suggestion ony because my song was thrown in on the mix.
Take Pandora for example. If I choose a song by Earth, Wind and Fire every other song will be like that style of song while plugged into Pondora. I will miss out on a style/genre that I may actually end up enjoying. I am a Rock, Jazz, Fusion instrumental kind of guy, but enjoy listening to all the other stuff that gets posted here. Hopefully people genuinly enjoy my stuff as well.
I dont like sub catergories.
Id rather them all in one page, i never really know what I want to listen to.
And if theyre all in one page it makes it easier to browse.
Most people put the genre or if its a work in progress etc in the title most times anyways.
I'm with you Ed
Agreed, some good ideas too - Remember the good old days? :) x
Thanks for the responses. It doesn't necessarily have to be broken down the way I showed. It is just an example, an idea to find a solution to what many people are complaining about. The music forum sucks.
I think like Carl said in the other thread. People who post music here should considerate listening to at least 1 0r 2 others of their interest.
It creates a warmer environment for the community and people will follow along with the courtesy etiquette.
@Mizimo: I do remember Yas, and that is why I keep coming back here. This is one of the best communities online, and the home to one the greatest music making software. I do hope to see around here more often Yas, you and some others who have disappeared for a while.
Anyway! whatever happens or doesn't. My best goes to y'all.
