Someday - Irish rock (instrumental)
I was testing a new midi guitar, so naturally I ended up with some rock.

That's some great playing there! It does sound a tad midi-ish but that's to be expected :) More of an American folk feel to my ears, and a real nice tune.

Hi Zac
I agree, a real guitar sounds somewhat better. When you are using midi you are depending on the quality of the samples you are using and noise fx. But using midi you can split the high notes and low notes and give them different samples and re verb. BTW you are a good guitar player as well.

I'm really not but thanks anyway. I am interested in trying a cheap midi guitar though as my keyboard playing skills are non existent and it'd be a nice way for me to get ideas into Reason. I'm keeping an eye out for a YRG midi guitar on Ebay. What were you using?

Perhaps this is what for you

I have both the Sonus and the YRG. YRG is wayyyyy more beterer. ;) Sonus is monophonic and does not track very well at all, but for 99 bucks its sorta OK. There are a few tracking issues with YRG but I think its because I use a USB for my interface. When the YRG is used on its own with its own sounds it tracks fine. But I don't like the default sounds and Reason has great samples to start with.

Elzinier, nice song by the way. It was kind of like "chickin pickin" guitar music. That's a good thing.

That was really cool! If you hadn't mentioned MIDI guitar I would have thought you were just a ninja guitar picker. Good stuff. Sounded like a mix between Irish folk and classic American Country and Western to my ears. I liked it.
