Reason 6.5 - Focusrite Scarlett 2i4

I just purchased Reason 6.5 and I have a Scarlett 2i4 interface.. I go into reason and select the Audio Card Driver: ASIO Focusrite USB 2.0 Audio Driver, after about 10 seconds it pops up with a message saying "your audio driver has quit working". Anyone have any insight on what I need to do to get this working??

Thanks!

Hi :)

Did you install the mixcontrol software? Also when you see the driver choices in preferences, is there an Asio Scarlett option? If so then you might want to try that instead..
Also did you follow the installation instructions properly? I know what it's like to get new gear and just wanting to get on with it! I've made this sort of mistake before..

Lastly this isn't specific for Reason but might help: http://www.focusrite.com/answerbase/...le.php?id=1197

Good luck!

Matt

does it work with other software(Reaper etc.) or only Reason.

Ok.. so I tried it again this morning and switched the Audio Card Driver to the ASIO Focusrite Audio Driver.. It starting recording and everything, but after about 2 minutes the pop up came up again saying "your audio driver has quit working". I went into edit: prefrences and switched it back and it will work for about 30 seconds and then pop again. I'm hoping there is an easy fix to this problem.. Thanks!

Make sure windows isn't using your audio interface for its system sounds.

Thanks.. I assume I would find that in the sounds section of my control panel? I am using Windows 7

Yes, or you can access it from right clicking the speaker icon in the windows toolbar. ;)

Man I tried that and it still will not work.. It will record and pick up audio anywhere from from 10 seconds to 3 minutes before it pops up saying that the driver has stopped working.. Any other suggestions? This is getting very frustrating lol

I'm rather much a newbie myself, but I was having screen freeze issues with similar error messages & found stuff that was sitting in the background was pushing my system over the edge.

Close any internet link & then pause any antivirus software for starters.

Have you run the "Mix Control" software that came on the disc with your interface?

This is key to your Scarlett interface being set up and working properly.

Matt

Also, I recommend contacting Focusrite Support about this issue. They will answer fairly promptly (depending on what time-zone you live in)!
