Creating REX Loops

I have Reason 6. Is ReCycle the only way to create a REX file from an audio clip? I thought I read somewhere that Reason 6 had a way you can convert a file to REX format with NN-XT or something. I have audio clips I want to convert to REX for use in Dr. Octo-REX, but don't want to buy ReCycle if I can avoid it.

Reason 7 will have this feature built in!

Well, not FULL ReCycle in Reason7 but, at least some of the basic functionality, from what I understand.

I'd say the main functionality!

Still I'm very hope that PH will make ReCycle 3 Audio Edit Pro, Multi Track Audio Editor kinda thing! :)

Usually, a lot of loops are less than 4 bars long, sometimes just 1 bar. Is it not the same if you 'razor your audio and save each section individually?(Select all clips and bounce or save to new)
Recycle is doing that job and treats each part seperately but saves as 1 whole 'loop'.
Load into NN19 or NNXT and you can shape each section much more precisely.
Hope that helps.

I'm not sure. But if I'm going to use Dr. Octorex, then I need REX loops. The source audio are my own tracks. But they are in WAV format and need to be converted to REX so I can import to Doc-Oc. Hence my inquiry. I guess with 7 I'll be able to create my own REX files from my own audio clips.

Dr.Octorex is indeed fantastic in it's own way (cough) Just trying to point out that there's really no need to spend your hard earned money on a seperate programme like Recycle,or having to upgrade to a newer version, when you can do everything 'it does inside Reason.
It just requires a tiny bit extra time and some deeper understanding of what Reason can and will do for you.
Is there a 'specific' purpose for wanting to use your files in Rex format other than it's tempo matching features?
