Reason 6 users have to pay???

Yeah, I been using Reason and I own balance since 2011 so does that mean I have to buy the new reason 7 upgrade??

Not really. You only buy it if you want to. If you decide not to buy it, Reason 6.5 will continue working as usual.

Yeah, but I thought existing reason users got it free (and reason's my main daw and learning logic on the side because of it's third party plugin capabilities) with most of the new features reason is getting it's kinda hard not to want/need the new upgrade (most of the things reason 6 can't do logic can but reason 7 will be close to that)

The only truly free upgrade I remember was to 6.5 from 6, and that wasn't a full version release, only an incremental.

Why did you think it was free if it has never been the case? The only free upgrades so far have been X.5 updates (2.5 and 6.5).

Isn't 7 just 0.5 up from 6.5? ;)

Grum.

:D Sure, but it's 9.18% of the price of a single ounce of gold at current market value. Quite a deal since it's worth its weight in the stuff

My wife sold her ring for £27 the other week. We sold some gold the same day.

Grum.

Damn. Half my computer was paid for with money from a gold ring/earrings that were sold four years ago when the going rate was around $1050 or so
