[synthpop] Heliophile - Nebula EP teaser!

Hi folks! Here's a little teaser with samples from 3 out of 4 tracks that will be on my Nebula EP, set for digital distribution in beginning of July. Including material I haven't made public before! Synthpop with vocals, all made in Reason, of course.

Sounds like a great EP Helio specially if you like Synthpop. Best of luck with the release!

Will listen tonight! This computer has no speakers!

I always love your stuff so I'm really looking forward to this!

Wow! Every song sounds great! Can't wait for the EP to come out... I'll be getting it for sure!

You have such a unique, cohesive style... that's a hard thing to really develop but you've got it!

Thanks so much, guys!
On the subject of the release, do you know of any good synthpop sites or blogs that may be willing to review my work?

This is fantastic! I just began a blog that focuses on synth-pop and other genres of electronic music, but with a heavy focus on synth-pop as that's where my true love and passion lies. I will be plugging some upcoming synth-pop releases by a number of independent synth-pop & electro artists, so if you like, I'd be more than happy to put your release in the line-up for reviews?

I've been a silent observer of some songs you've posted over the past few months, and I'm a BIG fan. Your work reminds me of early De/Vision (perhaps their Fairyland? album). It's really fantastic stuff and deserves a big audience. So anything I may be able to do to help you get the word out via my blog, I'm only to happy to do. Just let me know if you're interested. :)

Thanks for posting the teaser for your EP.

Cheers,

J

I'd love to be reviewed on your blog, Jimm! When I finish the EP, I'll make sure you'll get access to it.
Thanks for your compliments! They mean a lot to me, coming from someone so experienced and musically capable as you.
Yes, De/Vision are an influence, although I don't know the album in question. "Noob" was one of the albums that made me rediscover the synthpop that I loved as a child in the early-mid 80's.
I'll keep you up to date!
Cheers from Gijs

Sweet stuff. :) How is it mastered?

Heliophile 2013-05-02 20:46

I mastered it myself in Reason for now, but for the final release I plan to send the mixes out to a professional to master them for me. Right now the sound isn't very consistent between the tracks, plus I''m still pretty clueless when it comes to mastering.

PulseOne 2013-05-03 17:44

I hear you. God knows I've spent hundreds of hours studying and practicing mastering and I still feel like a total derp every time I try it.

Anyhow, I think it sounds really good for a in-reason mastering! Then again, for a production this nice I'd give it to a professional for mastering, too.
